Frequently asked questions

How do I mix a colour?

Open Recipes, tap +, then New Recipe, and choose a brand. Tap the wand button for Auto Mix, set your target colour, and tap Mix. PolyClay Mixer suggests the clays and the ratio to blend.

How does Magic Palette work?

Open the Magic Palette tab and take or choose a photo. The app picks out a set of colours that work together and mixes each one from your chosen clay brand. Photos are processed on your device and are never uploaded.

What does the Full Unlock include?

A single one-time purchase reveals and saves Magic Palette recipes, and adds palettes and unlimited recipes. Without it you can save up to 15 recipes. There's no subscription.

I bought the unlock. How do I get it on another device?

Sign in with the same Apple Account, then go to Settings › Restore Purchase. Family members can use the purchase too if Family Sharing is switched on.

Why aren't my recipes syncing?

Recipes and stock levels sync through iCloud. Check that each device is signed in to the same Apple Account, and that iCloud is allowed for PolyClay Mixer in the Settings app under your name › iCloud. iOS decides when to sync, so changes can take a few minutes to arrive. You can also tap Sync Now in the app's Settings › Sync.

How do I back up my recipes?

Go to Settings › Backup › Export Recipes to save every recipe and palette to a single file. Use Import Recipes to bring them back. Importing never deletes anything, and skips recipes you already have.

Will the mixed colour match exactly?

Mixes are a close guide. Real results vary with clay batch, conditioning and baking, so try a small test piece first.
